When I did a fast a few months ago... A good friend suggested I sip on no salt, chicken broth with some red pepper flakes lightly sprinkled in it. Honestly, it did the trick. Just when I thought I could not make it, and I had to eat something, the broth gave me just enough sensation of having eaten... 1/2 cup to 1 cup works. I was able to continue on for the rest of the fast.
It is a process. So, if you are New to fasting... I would suggest, to have something like the No Salt Broth with seasoning on hand - just in case you begin to falter... Your body will adjust the more you practice fasting.
